My son went to Italy without us.

My ten year old son has developed an Italian accent. A very thick Italian accent. And hand gestures, big Italian hand gestures.

We went to Red Lobster recently and my son told the waitress his order in his English-Italian (with big hand gestures).

The waitress just stared at him. Then she said in a very annoyed voice, "I don't know what you are saying".

Unfortunately, I had a terrible headache. I just wanted my son to tell her his stinkin' order so we could get our food. So, I gave him "the look". You know what I am talking about. Defeated, he muttered his order without the accent.

I really wish I would have told the waitress that his name was
Di Giornio and he was visiting from Sicily and trying hard to learn English. And would she please just take his order.
